HOME-BASED SENIOR HEALTH CARE
BRINGS PEACE OF MIND TO WALLA WALLA FAMILIES
Solutions In-Home Care Offers Concierge Care to Local Seniors
Walla Walla, WA. (17) July 2025 – There’s no place like home. For senior-care agency, Solutions In-Home Care, Walla Walla is now that place. After opening its doors earlier this summer, local families are resting a bit easier knowing their loved one is cared for by experienced and licensed healthcare professionals – all in the comfort of their own home.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Walla Walla branch invites the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony & open house event later this month. The event is open to the community to enjoy light fares, beverages and Solutions gift bags. In addition, attendees will also meet branch manager, Dane Conklin and the local caregiving staff, as well as Solutions founder, Heather Michael.

“We are excited to be a part of the Walla Walla community and offer the peace of mind knowing your loved one is safe in our care.” said Heather Michael, RN, BSN. “At Solutions, we offer 24-hour care with experienced, trained professionals who are matched to clients based on their specific complex need, which sets us apart from other care agencies. We specialize in these complex needs such as dementia, chronic disease and end-of-life care. We are with you to support you, no matter what your journey looks like.”
Statistics show that the senior population is growing across the U.S. and by 2030, 20% of Americans will be 65 years or older, with 70% of that population requiring some form of long-term care. By comparison, Walla Walla County is ahead of the curve, with 21.4% of residents predicted to be 65 years or older by 2030.
According to Michael, Solutions is set up to grow in tandem with this population increase: “Providing an extensive training program, competitive pay and guaranteed hours, Solutions is building the foundation to recruit top candidates in the area, proving to be a staple within the Walla Walla community for the long haul.”
The unique services and community-focused relationships Solutions offers not only help individual families, but the Walla Walla community as a whole. “We’re opening more than just doors, we’re opening the opportunity to serve – to meet people where they are, in the place they call home, with care that’s grounded in compassion, trust, and dignity,” said Dane Conklin, Walla Walla native and Solutions Branch Manager.
Solutions is built on a unique business model that differs from other caregiving agencies: created and owned by a registered nurse with a passion for providing exceptional care to seniors. Michael founded Solutions in 2010 in Kennewick, WA, with the goal of providing patient advocacy and informative support. Taking on the role of caretaker herself after a family cancer diagnosis, Michael experienced the gaps within the senior care
industry firsthand and set out to help families like her own – uninformed and desperate for knowledge – to provide quality care for their loved ones as care needs increased.
“We raise the bar for the standard of care in our communities and have high expectations of all our staff,” Michael added. “Safety is our number one priority and having continuous oversight by a Care Coordinator ensures that we pick up on and address needed changes with the healthcare provider, helping to prevent trips to the Emergency Room. This extra layer of support provides loved ones with the peace of mind they’re
looking for, so they aren’t living in fear or guilt,” Michael added.
Today, Solutions has grown from a small female-owned agency to a family business run by Michael and her three sons. Covering South Central to South East Washington – from Grandview to the Walla Walla Valley, Solutions has expanded to match the needs of clients with offices in the Tri Cities and now Walla Walla specializing in:
-
Hospice Home Care:
- Staff works with and supports local Hospice agencies to oversee the regimented end-of-life care plan in the client’s home. Care Coordinators develop ongoing relationships with local hospice agencies, maintaining open lines of communication while overseeing client needs.
-
Dementia Home Care:
- While dementia care has historically been limited and difficult to find, Solutions has made this a cornerstone of the business. Proudly employing Positive Approach to Care® (PAC) Certified Independent Professionals, all staff are trained in the proven methods and content developed by Dementia expert, Teepa Snow.
-
In-Home Medication Administration:
- Under the supervision of an RN, caregivers perform such tasks as administering oral or topical medications, patches, eye drops, blood sugars and more.
-
Respite Home Care:
- Solutions provide family caregivers a well-deserved break from their daily role. Most adult children are busy with work, family, kids’ sports and social activities. Respite care takes over the caregiver role, allowing family members to be the child or spouse again.
-
Personal Care:
- Designed to provide seniors with the assistance required to perform day-to-day tasks in their own home. Personal Care focuses on maintaining client independence while preserving physical hygiene, as well as mental and emotional well-being.
-
Companionship Care:
- Focusing on socialization, caregivers coordinate activities centered on mental and emotional stimulation. This engagement aims to provide peace of mind for families concerned with physical injuries including fall risks, as well as monitoring mental health decline while living alone.
